The way I see it, there are much MUCH more damaging hobbies than figure collecting. I mean, really. Some people get this strange tunnel vision about what people are supposed to do, and if anyone deviates from that "norm", it seems to freak them out or something. _________________

Good question Hina. My in laws recently spent 2 weeks with us in our house and I have to say that I did hide this figure
She is our most ecchi figure. NAd I lOVE her
I usually show my collection off to most people that visit the house. After all if I can't be proud of my collection than I sould not be collecting it.
I can see that under some circumstances that I would shut the door to my office. YOu never know how people are going to take the collection. And I do not really want to offend anyone. Some are more tolerant than others.
Overall, I try to buy what I feel my 5 year old daughter can see.
My family has seen my collection, but no one at work knows anything about it. _________________

I do keep the few Gigapulse figures I have out of sight. Otherwise the only one I'll normally hide for company is 1/4 Koyori since that one doesn't exactly have a cast on option. I'll hide anything that isn't nailed down if the nieces come over though lest they break something. Those two little hellions are as bad as their mother was when we were growing up.
Generally speaking, people can say what they want about my hobby. I'm not going to lose any sleep over people's opinions. _________________

Interesting question indeed.
Personally I've got all of my figures out in the living room and a couple of them are pretty sexy (one is always naked because the clothes look gaudy) but I can't say I'd ever move them just because someone objects.
This sort of thing definitely depends on the situation though.
I know roughly how many figures you have Hina. A ton. If I were you I'd just do my best to conceal some of the more inappropriate ones. Good luck either way!
Edit: Now that I think about it, my dad is pretty conservative and he said this to me in regards to my figures "If this is the worst thing you get into I'll be happy." He likes my Clare figure actually. _________________

On the bright side I no longer have to worry about hiding things from my mother-in-law I did however have to put the bulk of my anime figures into storage because of my toddler's Godzilla-like tendencies with them. _________________

that's good to know!
though i've never had to really worry much about such a thing myself,
i can nevertheless deeply identify with how you must have felt about it... _________________
