I am not sure what the VIP status thing is, I thought it provided a discount off my purchases since it lists "Discount Rate is: "

As I dont appear to be getting that as a discount off things I buy, just kind of wondering what it is :)

Basically it works like this:
Bronze 1% after a total of $500 of products are purchased.
Silver 3% after a total of $1000 of products are purchased.
Gold 5% after a total of $3000 of products are purchased.
Platinum 6% after a total of $5000 of products are purchased.
Please Note: Once they get shipped to you they start going towards building your VIP discount.
