Still desperately trying to get through reading Game of Thrones as I have fallen in love with the tv series. I used to be able to read a book a day but I've been so busy I still haven't finished it on my third day of reading (can't stay focused, almost done though).

I find that I get a lot of reading done on my breaks at work. I've been reading Gibson stuff and Haruki Murakami stuff lately. I really love Murakami's stuff. Interestingly enough, it's Yoshitoshi ABe's work Haibane Renmei that got be interesting in Murakami. Does anyone else know the connection?

I really want to get started on the Destroyer series. However, I'd have to find the books. I guess I could ebay them, but ordering a couple hundred books off of ebay and having them shipped to me isn't the most appealing thought. lol

off to go watch the new fast and furious movie tonight. Not sure about it though since I haven't really seen the others...but it beats playing yugioh T.T (I love it, I do. I just want to do OTHER things from time to time)

Oh! I totally forgot this was coming out, I might check it out this weekend.

Today was alright, we had a BBQ at work, then came home and am finishing setting up Windows 7 on my new 60GB Mushkin SSD drive. Man, this thing is crazy fast. The Windows startup animation barely starts playing, then BAM! Desktop. Ready to use. Way better than the other HD, which I now have mirrored (RAID 1) with my data drive.

That's about how often I reinstall Windows anyway Laughing

The newer generations of controllers are a lot better at preventing degredation than the older ones were.

Also, I moved the Page file to the HD array, as well as a couple other programs that require a lot of writing to the drive. Disabled disk defragmenter, prefetch, and windows indexer on the C drive. Should help a bit I hope!

Lucky you can just reinstall windows. I have RAID1 so reinstalling is a pain in the crack. I used Winpatrol to disable any startup programs and just leave pure windows itself to load so no program can load with it. Still boots up in record time 20-30secs . Surprised

avast is my antivirus program while tune-up utitilites handles any unwanted startup programs.

my system still boots up in less than 30secs, so my tri-drive baby's still holding up just fine ^^

I finally gave up on Windows some time ago. I switched to Mac and never looked back. I do wish that I had paid extra to get the SSD option, though. I'll definitely get it on my next computer, but I don't see any reason to upgrade anytime soon.

I just woke up and in the shower I remembered that I haven't been on here in a couple(1?) days.

The cleanliness of the threads is relieving-

I've been working lately. Nothing too special has happened.
Actually I'm now enrolled in SUNY Binghamton college for the fall semester.

Anyone on here that goes there?

work was another drag that slowly got better....but still a drag nonetheless. i've currently got my a.m on my butt due to my "atr" being so low. i managed to bust out a 9.0 thx to my g.m, so that kinda boosted my mindset prior to closing.

in other news, i just discovered i am one of a handful of winners in the "lucky draw" contest @ e2046 for the month of april.

funny cause i did luck out.....like literally. soon i'll be in possession of this little beauty here:

making her another 1st to my current collection ^^

okay, here's kinda a few days all together... sorry for the upcoming rant......

sooooooooo a few weeks ago, i was crazy sick, and got written up for not going into work when i didnt know i was scheduled, even though when they called i told them i was really sick. i came in the next day even though i was throwing up all morning and wound up making myself sicker. also got lectures from three different managers.

then about 2 weeks ago i got what i thought was an allergic reaction, but it didnt go away. then it spread. and got worse. found out wednesday apparently when i was super sick, it was strep. and it was so bad, i developed a super massive skin infection. which i am about to be on my second dose of crazy strong antibiotics for.

when i told my manager wed by phone, her only concern was making sure i was coming into work yesterday, and yesterday i told my main manager, that wrote me up, and she goes, 'oh, okay.' neither of them cared i was that sick, or that i made it worse by coming in, that i should not have worked all week but got written up anyway, and no one even asked if i was contagious... i work in a clothing store....

im not, but how could they know that if they didnt ask?
