Edit: She's done:

I've been working on this kit for the past few weeks... and putting up posts on my blog, so for anyone bored at work, or just bored, here's something to read:
Work starts on velvet, initial surface clean up and work
First priming session to find surface defects
Fixing surface defects with light curing putty (Scroll half way down page)
Prime, Putty, Sand, Prime, repeat
Surface prep is 80% of the job...
Finally, some real painting
Fun with masking

Granted, I'm still on the fence about my level of satisfaction... so...

Even with the original, I'm really surprised at the amount of surface defects such as pin holes under the surface and a few marred details.... but it came together fairly well.
I'm sure this kit will probably pop up at future resin figure events in Japan. I think I remember seeing it sold at WF this summer too. But I'm guessing competition to get the kit before it got sold out was pretty tough. |

Since I really wasn't happy with the eyes, I stripped everything and started over from the beginning...

I did some refinements to the eyes per suggestions from another forum... but forgot to take pictures; I was busily working on finishing up her chain so that I could let it sit and cure before snapping pictures tonight and calling the thing completed

very impressive gamera.
your tutorials really inspire me to try building/making my own kit one day...though i know lots of time & patience is needed to make the most out of any.
kudos to ya on a job well done....once again _________________ http://blueboyblued.blogspot.com/

She looks great.
Like blueboy said, it makes me want to try kit building. I'm not sure if I have the patience for it, though. _________________
